It’s Earth Day 2017 πŸŒ

Happy Earth Day everyone!

Today is Earth Day (if you weren’t sure already πŸ˜‰ ). The day we take more care of our amazing planet, which we should be doing every single day if you ask me! The day to take that extra effort to care for our planet, turn the lights off when you don’t need them, limit charging your phone because it doesn’t have to be constantly on 100%, or even brushing your teeth in the dark. These tiny little actions can make such a difference, if everyone took part! So let’s all just do something small (or big!) today, which literally takes no effort, but makes the difference.

Let me know what things you are doing today to embrace the environment, and help save it- no matter how small they are! As a keen Wildlife enthusiast, I decided to make you a list of things you could do, and that I have done today which can help to show you care. ❀ And please read this whole post if you have the time.

  1. Brush your teeth without the lights on
  2. Sit outside instead of inside using technology.
  3. Plant a tree, plant, or flowers outside to help bees and creatures
  4. Raise money for a wildlife trust
  5. Buy something that donates to a wildlife charity- I did this today!
  6. Don’t charge or use technology excessively
  7. Litter pick at a beach!
  8. Spread the awareness of Earth Day and the environment, online or in real life!
  9. Don’t drop rubbish on the floor, or pick some up that was on the floor.
  10. Drive sensibly- wildlife is always looking to cross major roads.
  11. Take some nature pictures and show people, explaining the message.
  12. Make a hedgehog house! They really need your help. ❀
  13. Make a birds house and put it in a tree high up
  14. Reblog this post! Show that you are passionate about making a difference!
  15. If you see wildlife, help it out (pick a worm up from the pavement and put it in a soily area)
  16. Don’t drive somewhere, walk, cycle, run.
  17. Hold a sale (cakes, books, old toys) and donate all the earnings to a nature charity.
  18. Turn all the lights off when its dark for half an hour or an hour!
  19. Make a pile of leaves and garden waste and leave it in the corner of your garden- this is perfect for hedgehogs!
  20. Do NOT use chemicals or nasties on plants outside- leave them for nature!
  21. Learn about what garden species need your help
  22. Don’t cut your grass so short, creatures love it long, it gives them places to hide!
  23. RECYCLE, RECYCLE, RECYCLE!
  24. Plant another tree, for luck. πŸ™‚
  25. SHARE 3 THINGS YOU DID TO HELP in the comments. It would mean the world to me!

If you’ve done just some of these things on this list- or even more!- you really have done an amazing thing to the Earth! I hope you all do 25, or even 14 too, it helps everyone to know the importance today, and help out those little creatures and furry ones!

This was a little bonus post today, but I am so passionate about helping the environment that I had to share and try and encourage it! Let’s see if together we can get people to join in too- like this post and spread the wooord!

Keep helping!

  1. Wow! Really nice post ❀
I also wanted to write a post about this day on my blog but I didn't have time so I didn't write it 😦
You're definitely right – we should care the environment!
Did you make a house for hedgehog? It sounds great. Did you do it? ^^

    Love from Poland!! πŸ˜‰

    1. Thank you soo much! Oh no! Instead of a hedgehog house, we made a ramp from the hole in the garden fence so hedgehogs can get in and out! Love from England! Tabi 😊

  2. Great post! I saw some wild deer this weekend, just running around in some woods. It was amazing, but I realised how rarely we see larger animals with freedom to roam now.

  3. Love this! I found your blog through https://abbeycoseattle.blog. So on Friday (since Earth day was Saturday and school is not in session) we took our 7th grade STEM crew on a walking field trip to participate in an Earth Day tree planting event. The ecosystem is being restored by the city. We have many salmon that spawn in that area but because of various human activities the salmon population has declined. Our students planted around 120 trees. Just wanted to share our Earth day contribution 🌎

  4. I always try to recycle everything I can (or donate things to a charity if they’re still in working order!) and we like to look after the birds in our garden! We have a couple of bird feeders and a bird house (which one is nesting in right now we think!) πŸ™‚ Loved this post! X

I didn’t even know it was Earth Day! But I went outside and played SOCCER with some family so I’m happy we decided to do it.

  6. I reblogged and I am also a wildlife enthusiast!

I’ve been on my Eco-council in school for the past few years! Saving the environment is important!

Also, I have technically already done number 12 (ish) as for the past few years, I’ve had a hedgehog living under my garden shed! πŸ™‚

  7. I’ve written about this topic before, and I try to help the Earth everyday, like doing simple things, like buying ethically, turning off the lights when leaving the room, brushing my teeth in the dark, etc. Thanks for spreading this message!

    1. It’s so true, we should be doing all this every day! but I believe if we spread the word enough, people might realise how much little effort can really make a difference. Happy Earth Day, everyday! ❀️❀️🌍

  8. *runs upstairs to unplug phone* *turns off lights and opens blinds* Well, it’s a gloomy day, but I can manage. πŸ™‚ Thank you so much for sharing these awesome tips, Tabi! We truly need to take care of our earth — every day — because it’s the only place we have to live. ❀
