How to Make your own Scrapbook

One of my FAVOURITE things to do (obviously apart from eating pancakes and drinking tea…) is scrapbooking! Or journaling, some people call it. I like to call it sticking-souvenirs-and-curiosities-and-magazine-cuttings-and-you-know-things-like-that booking. But it isn’t as catchy so

This is my scrapboook!!

If you want to know how to make your own liddle scrapbook then you can use this as a guide, but really a scrapbook can be anything you use to write things down, stick memories and stuff in, as long as you find a way that you enjoy!

My scrapbook didn’t involve buying A N Y T H I N G new (believe it or not) and I simply used scraps of paper and card and string from other projects to make it- so no wasting here teehee πŸ™‚

Things you may neeed:

Paper, newspaper, different varieties of paper, thick card or board (for the cover), hole punch, pens and other things to decorate, string, scissors.

and…

How to make it…

1. Firstly, use your scissors to carefully cut lots of rectangles for the pages of your scrapbook. Mine are all slightly different shapes and sizes- some are newspaper, some brown paper, some plain paper, and that randomness looks really effective!…I thinks.

2. Next you need to make hole punches through all the papers so the string can be threaded through later on. Don’t worry too much about whether they’re central either.

3. You’ll also want to cut out a cover out of a thicker card or board (like mine) that is slightly bigger than the pages inside and make holes in that aswell.

4. Use the string to thread it through all the pages and then tie a knot or bow on each to keep the pages together. Keep it loose if you want to be able to turn the pages more easily and untie them to add more pages when you need to!

I put ‘Tabi’s Book’ on the front of mine aswell as some leaves I collected and some doodles. The thing I love about scrapbooking is that there are so so many ways to make it your own and there is NO limit as to how much and what you put inside! I can’t wait for mine to get super duper full of drawings and photos, postcrads, stamps, labels- everything I collect on adventures πŸ™‚

If you have a go at making your own cheeky scrapbook please please please send me your creations- I’d love to see your own unique ways of scrapbooking!! Hope you’re all having a bearilliant Saturday! ( yup I couldn’t resist sorryy)

  1. I love it love it love it! You always come up with great easy ideas. Winter time is a perfect time for doing things like that. Who wants to go out when it`s cold and dark. I will probably make one too. Why not πŸ˜›

  2. What a great idea and as always, I love your illustrations. Your characters are so adorable. I am a fanatic for anything that involves flowers, so I press flowers to add to paper and cards. I should do a little scrapbook of wildflowers. Thanks for the idea.

  3. That’s so cool how you can make your own scrapbook! I never thought about that! I always thought that I’d have to buy the $20 scrapbooks from an art store, the special paper, and all that special stuff, but now yay! I can make my own! I’m gonna go get started on that now ❀ 🐻 (btw, your drawings are amaaaaaaaaaazing!!)

  4. Omg WOW. Your scrapbook is so pretty and I’m so jealous you managed to DIY it. Unfortunately, I’m not as skilled and creative since I bought my scrapbook (very pretty still!) from paperchase. I obviously love it but a home made scrapbook, and one that looks like this? HEART EYES. Great tutorial!
